ICONIC SWISS ART DECO DESK / SHELF CLOCK. This handsome example of 1920-30s Art Deco timekeeping is. From my personal collection of antique clocks. The half-circular case with beveled crystal encloses a conforming dial with matte and polished silver finishes, bold Arabic numbers and an engraved chapter ring with black indices. A stepped rectangular plinth on low cylindrical feet supports the clock. The high grade Swiss 8-day spring driven lever movement by F. Cornioley has fifteen jewels, three adjustments, and a bimetallic balance with Breguet overcoil hairspring. A patent granted Cornioley pertains to the single key wind/pull set mechanism. NOTE: I fully disassembled the movement, ultrasonically cleaned and rinsed all elements, removed the mainspring from the barrel to clean and grease, checked for wear, reassembled and lubricated with high-grade Swiss oils. Hands, bezel, movement dust cover and the key were cleaned and polished. Meticulous restoration ensures reliable operation for years. 3.5″ high, 6.4″ wide, 1.3 deep.
